Eating Out

Suzdal has a good restaurant scene for a town its size, with several places serving traditional Russian cuisine in historic surroundings. The local speciality is medovukha — a lightly fermented honey drink that is sold everywhere and is considerably milder than it looks. Pickled vegetables, borscht, pelmeni, and blini are the staples.

The main strip of restaurants and cafes runs along Kremlyovskaya Ulitsa and the streets around the trading arcades. Prices are reasonable by Russian standards, and in summer outdoor seating fills the lanes between the churches.
