Getting Around

Suzdal is small enough to cover on foot — the Kremlin, the town centre, and the Pokrovsky Monastery across the river are all within a 20-minute walk of each other. The Monastery of Saint Euthymius is at the northern edge of town, about 15 minutes on foot from the Kremlin.

Bicycle hire is available from several guesthouses and a few stands near the main sights. A bicycle makes it easy to reach the Museum of Wooden Architecture and the village of Kideksha (4 km east) without resorting to a taxi. Horse-drawn carriage rides are offered in the town centre — scenic but slow.

Taxis are plentiful for the return trip from Kideksha or for longer excursions to nearby villages. There are no local buses within the town itself.
