The Nativity Monastery is one of Vladimir's important religious complexes, tied to the city's medieval role in northeastern Rus. Although much has been rebuilt or altered, the site still anchors a major strand of Vladimir's ecclesiastical history.
It is worth visiting as part of a broader circuit with the Golden Gate and the great white-stone cathedrals. The monastery is an active religious place, so the experience is quieter and more devotional than museum-like.
