Vladimir's old water tower is one of the city's more unusual secular buildings, rebuilt in a pseudo-Russian style in 1912 after starting life as part of the 19th-century water-supply system. It now houses a small exhibition on Vladimir's history, making it an easy stop while walking between the Golden Gate and the old cathedral quarter.
