Stalingrad Battle Panorama Museum

Immersive circular painting of the Battle of Stalingrad

The central museum of the Battle of Stalingrad, housing over 4,000 exhibits — weapons, uniforms, documents, personal effects, and paintings — documenting the five-month siege that turned the course of the Second World War. The centrepiece is a vast circular panoramic painting, 16 metres high and 120 metres in circumference, depicting the Soviet counteroffensive of January 1943. Adjacent to the museum is Mill No. 4, a ruined grain elevator preserved in its battle-damaged state as a monument.
