The Almaška Church — the Holy Three Hierarchs — is the largest Serbian Orthodox church in Novi Sad and the spiritual centre of the historic Almaški Kraj neighbourhood. The current Baroque building dates from 1797, and the interior holds one of the most important iconostases in Vojvodina, with painted panels by the 19th-century master Pavel Simić.
Slip in during a service if you can to get the building working as it was intended — incense, candlelight, and the deep chant of an Orthodox liturgy. Outside service times the church is sometimes locked; check the noticeboard for the day's hours.
