Štrand is the city beach, a long strip of imported sand on the left bank of the Danube just upstream from the bridges. From May to September it is the centre of Novi Sad summer life — sunbathing, swimming in the calm side channel, food stalls, beach volleyball, and a row of bars that stay open late.
Entry is free, the water is clean, and locker rooms and showers are basic but functional. On hot weekends the place is packed; come early or in the late afternoon.
