The Klarisky Bar occupies a Gothic convent courtyard near Michael's Gate, one of the most evocative settings for an evening drink in the old town. The Clarissine nuns who once occupied the convent were expelled in the 18th century by Emperor Joseph II; the complex was later used as a concert hall and is now partly given over to this bar. The stone courtyard is open in summer and lit by candles in the evening.
The drink selection is straightforward — wine, beer, and spirits — but the location does the work. The bar gets busy on Friday and Saturday nights; arrive early for a table in the courtyard.
