Bratislava has a growing number of wine bars specialising in Slovak and Moravian wines. The country's wine regions — the Small Carpathians, Tokaj, and the Southern Slovak lowlands — produce wines that are genuinely underexplored outside Central Europe, particularly the local versions of Welschriesling, Müller-Thurgau, and the red Frankovka Modrá.
Several wine bars in the old town offer wine by the glass from local producers. Look for places on Venturská and Sedlárska streets, which have a concentration of small wine bars that operate as informal tasting rooms in the evenings. These are the places where Bratislava's food and wine culture is most visible.
