Trnava has a lively cafe culture, boosted by two universities and a younger resident population than you might expect in a city of its size. The main square and the streets immediately behind it are lined with cafes; standards are good and prices are significantly lower than in Bratislava or Vienna. The city's Slovak designation as a university town has kept a critical mass of good bars and music venues in operation.
