Trnava's restaurant scene is compact but solid, centred on the main square and the pedestrian streets connecting it to the cathedral district. Slovak staples — bryndzové halušky (potato dumplings with sheep cheese and bacon), svíčková (beef in cream sauce), and roast duck — are well represented. Prices are noticeably cheaper than Bratislava, and the quality of the better places is competitive with the capital.
