Trnava rewards slow exploration on foot. The old town is compact and almost entirely pedestrianised within the medieval fortifications, making it easy to wander from church to church without a plan. The concentration of baroque architecture is impressive — start at the main square and radiate outward, and you will discover something interesting around almost every corner. The City Tower and St. Nicholas Basilica are the obvious anchors, but the city's deeper pleasures come from stumbling across lesser-known chapels, university courtyards, and the restored fortification walls.
