The old town is walkable. Budatín Castle is a pleasant 15-minute walk from the main square along the Váh riverbank. The city bus network covers the wider city efficiently and connects to the suburbs. For day trips to Malá Fatra, regular buses run from the main bus station (adjacent to the train station) to Vrátna throughout the day. Taxis and rideshares are available throughout the city.
