Workers' Barracks

The Workers' Barracks are one of the most direct reminders that Jesenice's industrial story was lived by families, not just measured in tonnes of iron. The building housed workers tied to the local ironworks and now forms part of the Stara Sava heritage ensemble.

It is worth pausing here because industrial sites can otherwise become too abstract. A furnace tells you what was made; workers' housing tells you what kind of town had to exist around it.
