Ljubljana has a surprisingly active bar scene for a city its size. The riverfront cafes along the Ljubljanica are the place to sit outside in warm weather. Metelkova, a converted former army barracks, houses a cluster of alternative bars and clubs. Orto Bar near the train station is the main live music venue.
