Škofja Loka Castle rises above the old town and is the natural place to understand the layout of the settlement. The climb is short but steep enough to make the view feel earned: red roofs, river bends, and the wooded hills beyond.
Inside, the Loka Museum covers local history, crafts, religious art, and the surrounding countryside. Even if you move quickly through the exhibits, do not skip the castle grounds; they are the best vantage point in town.
