Natural Park of Cabo de Gata Nijar is the volcanic coastal reserve east of Almeria, known for dry hills, clear water, coves, and some of Andalucia's least built-up beaches. The landscape feels very different from the resort coast farther west.
It rewards a deliberate day trip, especially for hiking, scenic drives, swimming coves, and small coastal villages.
