Things to Do

Álora's main reward is the Moorish castle on the hilltop above the village, with panoramic views over the Guadalhorce valley. The village streets themselves are worth wandering — steep, whitewashed, and largely untouched by the tourism that has transformed the coast. The railway station, far below in the valley, gives access to the Málaga-Córdoba line and the starting point for walks along the Caminito del Rey gorge path.
