The cable car departs from the edge of Arroyo de la Miel and covers 8,000 metres of cable to reach the summit of Monte Calamorro at 771 metres above sea level. The journey takes about fifteen minutes and the views open up dramatically as you climb — the whole Costa del Sol stretches below, and on a clear day you can see across the Strait of Gibraltar to the mountains of Morocco. At the top there are short walking trails along the ridge, a small raptor display, and a restaurant with a terrace. Go early in the morning before the sea haze settles in. The cable car runs most of the year but closes in bad weather — check before you go.
