Casa-Museo Rocío Jurado

Rocío Jurado — "La Más Grande", the singer who defined Spanish popular song in the second half of the twentieth century — was born in Chipiona in 1944 and is buried in the town cemetery. The Casa-Museo recreates a slice of her career through stage costumes, awards, photographs, gold records, and the inevitable shrine-like sitting room. The interior is camp, lovingly assembled, and a window into a particularly Spanish kind of fame.

Whether you have heard of Rocío or not, this is the most distinctive small museum in town. Open most afternoons; entry fee is modest.
