By train is the best option if you are already in Spain. The AVE high-speed line from Madrid runs roughly hourly and takes 2 hours 30 minutes to cover the 500 km; trains arrive at Santa Justa station, a 20-minute walk or short taxi ride from the old town. There are also direct AVE services to Córdoba (45 minutes), Málaga, Barcelona and Valencia. By air, Seville Airport (SVQ), 10 km east of the city, has flights from most major European capitals and low-cost carriers from the UK, Ireland, Germany and Italy; a dedicated EA airport bus links the airport to the centre every 30 minutes. Many travellers on a budget fly into Málaga (2 hours away by bus or train) or Faro in Portugal and continue by land. By bus, long-distance coaches serve Seville from all over Spain; the two terminals are Plaza de Armas (services to the north and west) and El Prado de San Sebastián (east and south).
