Vejer's windmills sit on the windy edge of town, compact white towers that look almost toy-like until you remember how hard the Atlantic blows here. They are a quick visit, but they add a useful rural note to the old-town walk.
The best time is early or late, when the sun gives the white walls some depth. In harsh midday light they can look flat; in softer light they feel like part of the landscape.
