Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco is a 16th-century church and former convent in the old centre of Vélez-Málaga. Its mix of Mudéjar and Renaissance details makes it a worthwhile stop if you are following the town's churches, fortress, and older streets.
The convent once formed part of the Real Convento de Santiago. Most of that complex disappeared after the 19th-century confiscations, leaving the church as the main survivor.
