Bar do Brasil

A long-running bar on the Yumbo strip with a mixed crowd and good caipirinhas

Bar do Brasil sits on the second floor of the Yumbo Centrum and has been there long enough that it feels like a fixture rather than a tenant. The Brazilian theme is not overdone — a few flags, some samba on the sound system — but the caipirinhas are made properly with muddled lime and decent cachaça rather than the pre-mixed version most resort bars default to. The terrace tables look down over the central courtyard, which makes it a good place to arrive early and watch the complex wake up after dark.

The bar attracts a mixed crowd — older regulars who have been coming back to the Yumbo for twenty years, younger visitors who found it on an app, and a fair number of people who are just having one drink before moving somewhere louder. The staff work efficiently even when it gets busy. It opens around 9pm and stays open until the Yumbo winds down, usually around 4am on weekends.
