Gran Canaria Airport (Las Palmas Airport, IATA: LPA) handles direct flights from most major European cities, with a particularly large number of charters from the UK, Germany, Scandinavia, and the Netherlands. The airport is 35 km north of Playa del Inglés. Taxis to the resort take around 30-40 minutes and cost roughly €35-50. Bus line 66 runs between the airport and the Maspalomas area, taking about an hour and considerably cheaper, though it requires transferring to a local bus for the final leg.
From Las Palmas (the island capital), regular buses — Global line 30 — connect the city's main bus station with Playa del Inglés, taking about 50 minutes. Taxis from Las Palmas cost around €40-50. Renting a car at the airport is easy and relatively inexpensive; the GC-1 motorway runs straight down the east coast from the airport to the south.
Within the resort, most things are walkable if you do not mind a flat but often sun-exposed walk. Local taxis are plentiful and the fare between points within the Maspalomas resort zone is low.
