San Sebastián de La Gomera is reached primarily by ferry from Tenerife. Fred Olsen and Naviera Armas both run several crossings daily from Los Cristianos on Tenerife's south coast; the crossing takes around 50 minutes on the fast ferry and just over an hour on the slower ro-ro service. The ferry terminal is in the centre of town, a few minutes' walk from the main plaza.
Binter Canarias operates flights from Tenerife Norte (Los Rodeos) to La Gomera Airport, about 6 kilometres from San Sebastián. Flights take around 20 minutes, but the ferry is generally cheaper and more frequent.
