Faro de Punta Pechiguera

Pair of lighthouses on Playa Blanca's western point, facing the Bocaina strait

Faro de Punta Pechiguera marks the western end of the Playa Blanca coast, looking across the Bocaina strait toward Fuerteventura. The older 19th-century lighthouse and the taller modern tower stand close together, which gives the point more character than a simple navigation beacon.

The walk out is the main reason to come. Follow the coast west from Playa Blanca in the late afternoon, when the lava, sea, and low buildings take the hard edge off the resort strip. The old lighthouse is weathered and not a polished attraction, but the setting is strong, especially near sunset.
