Church of St. Juan Bautista

The Church of St. Juan Bautista is a small but meaningful stop in La Laguna, with a single nave and timber sculptures dedicated to the city's co-patron. The church stands near the old plague cemetery created during the devastating 1581 outbreak, and its story is tied to the city's vow of thanks after the epidemic ended on St. John the Baptist's feast day.

It is not as grand as La Laguna Cathedral or Iglesia de la Concepción, but it adds a darker, more local chapter to a walk through the historic centre.
