The Roman Museum occupies a converted granary on Plaza San Bartolomé and concentrates on objects recovered from Asturica Augusta itself: ceramic and bronze tableware, glass perfume bottles, the painted plaster from a high-status domus, milestones from the Vía de la Plata, and a collection of small bronzes. The standout is a wonderfully preserved mosaic showing the four seasons, lifted from a house in the centre of town.
A combined ticket lets you visit the nearby Ergástula — a long vaulted passage beneath the old forum, originally part of a Roman bath complex — and the open-air remains of the forum and main sewers. The museum is small enough for a one-hour visit and a useful companion to a walk along the Roman walls.
