Things to Do

Astorga's old town is small enough to cover on foot in a morning and packs in a remarkable amount: a Gothic cathedral, a Gaudí palace, a stretch of Roman walls, a beautifully preserved set of Roman remains, and the country's best museum of chocolate. The two big monuments — the cathedral and the Palacio Episcopal — sit side by side on the western edge of town and can be visited on a combined ticket.
