Albacete sits squarely on the Madrid–Alicante AVE high-speed line, with frequent trains making Madrid Atocha in 1 hour 30 minutes and Alicante in 50 minutes. The station is on the southern edge of the centre, an easy walk to most hotels.
The city is on the A-31 motorway (Ocaña–Alicante), with the bus station a few hundred metres from the train station — ALSA and Avanza buses serve Cuenca, Toledo, Valencia and the smaller La Mancha towns. The nearest commercial airports are Alicante and Valencia, both about two hours away by car or train.
