The bullring sits at the western edge of the city, a neo-Mudéjar brick building from 1916–17 with capacity for nearly 12,000. The big corridas happen during the September fair, when matadors of national stature appear; outside fair week the ring is used for concerts and the occasional cultural event.
There is a small bullfighting museum tucked into the ring (the Museo Taurino), and out-of-season visits to the structure itself can usually be arranged via the tourist office. Even those uninterested in bullfighting will find the building striking.
