Laie is part bookstore, part cafe, part cultural space -- and it does all three well. The shelves cover art, architecture, philosophy, literature, and Catalan culture, with a strong selection of titles in Catalan, Spanish, and English. The upstairs cafe is a good spot to sit with your purchases, and the shop regularly hosts readings and book launches. Located on Pau Claris in the Eixample, a short walk from Placa de Catalunya.
