A large shopping mall built on a pier in Barcelona's Port Vell, connected to the Rambla de Mar by a swing bridge. Maremagnum is the only shopping centre in the city allowed to open on Sundays and holidays, which makes it busy when everywhere else is closed. Inside you'll find the usual international chain stores, a food court, and a cinema. The real draw is the waterfront location itself -- the terraces offer views across the harbour, and the Barcelona Aquarium is right next door. Locals have mixed feelings about the place, but it's a convenient stop if you're exploring the port area.
