Figueres is ideally placed for exploring the Costa Brava. Cadaqués — Salvador Dalí's longtime home on a dramatic rocky bay — is 30 kilometres east by road and well worth a visit as part of the Dalí Triangle. Girona, 40 kilometres south, is one of the finest medieval cities in Spain.
