Basilica de Sant Feliu

Girona's pre-cathedral church, layered with Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque work.

Basilica de Sant Feliu was Girona's main church before the cathedral took that role. Built and altered from the 12th to the 17th century, it mixes Romanesque structure, Gothic height, and Baroque detail in a way that fits Girona's layered old town.

Inside are early Christian and Roman sarcophagi from the 3rd and 4th centuries, along with the Gothic tomb of Saint Narcissus. It is close to the cathedral and strong enough to be more than a quick add-on.
