By air
The nearest airport is Vigo–Peinador (VGO), about 40km south. It handles flights from Madrid, Barcelona, and several European cities, including Ryanair routes from London, Dublin, and Brussels. The alternative is Santiago de Compostela (SCQ), roughly 55km north, which has a wider range of connections including transatlantic flights via Madrid. Neither airport has a direct bus connection to Cambados — you'll need to rent a car or take a taxi onward.
By car
A car is the most practical way to reach Cambados and explore the surrounding Salnés valley and Rías Baixas wine country. From Vigo, take the AP-9 motorway north and exit at the O Grove/Cambados junction onto the PO-548. From Santiago, head south on the AP-9 and follow signs for Vilagarcía de Arousa, then take the coast road south to Cambados. The drive from either city takes around 45–50 minutes in normal traffic.
By bus
MONBUS operates regional coach services from Vigo, Pontevedra, and Vilagarcía de Arousa to Cambados. Journey times vary: roughly 30 minutes from Vilagarcía, about an hour from Pontevedra, and around 90 minutes from Vigo. Services are infrequent — check schedules carefully and note that Sunday services are sparse. The bus stop is a short walk from the town centre.
