Eating Out

Cambados punches above its weight for a town of its size. The proximity to the Ría de Arousa means the fish and shellfish are exceptional — percebes (goose barnacles), navajas (razor clams), and zamburiñas (small scallops) appear on menus throughout the year. Albariño is the default wine, and with good reason: the pairing of crisp, aromatic white wine with the briny local seafood is one of those combinations that makes perfect sense the moment you try it.

The standout is Yayo Daporta, a Michelin-starred address that draws visitors from across Galicia. For something more casual, the bars around the Praza de Fefiñáns serve simple tapas and good wine at honest prices. If you are heading to O Grove for the day, plan to eat lunch there — the seafood restaurants on the peninsula are among the best on the Rías Baixas coast.
