Things to Do

Cambados is a town to wander slowly. The three medieval nuclei — Fefiñáns, Cambados, and Santo Tomé — flow into one another through granite streets lined with arcaded manor houses and the occasional vine-covered wall. The showpiece is the Praza de Fefiñáns, one of the finest squares in Galicia, flanked by the 17th-century pazo towers and open on one side to the estuary. From there it is a short walk to the Gothic ruins of Santa Mariña de Dozo, a roofless church that serves as an active cemetery and one of the most atmospheric sights on the Rías Baixas coast.

Wine is never far away. The Bodegas del Pazo de Fefiñáns operates right on the square, and the surrounding Salnés valley is the heartland of the Rías Baixas denomination. Day trips to A Toxa Island and the seafood-obsessed peninsula of O Grove fill out a stay nicely. Use the filters below to browse by type.
