The exposed Atlantic end of the O Grove peninsula, an 8-km drive south-west of the town centre. San Vicente do Mar is technically a separate village but is administratively part of O Grove, and the landscape is completely different from the sheltered harbour: open Atlantic, rocky headlands, small sandy coves tucked between cliffs, and pine woods running down to the water.
The standout sights are the Praia de Mexilloeira (a curving sandy bay), the Faro de Punta Cabicastro lighthouse on the south-western tip, and the small Mirador de Con Negro clifftop viewpoint. Several of the coves have basic chiringuito-style beach bars in summer. A bicycle or car is essential; bus services are limited.
