Ourense has a train station with regular services to Santiago de Compostela and Vigo, and a high-speed connection to Madrid that has cut journey times significantly. The station is at the bottom of the city, a steep 15-minute walk from the old town. By car Ourense is about an hour east of Santiago via the A-52.
