Malasaña's vintage market, held on weekends in and around the neighbourhood, is one of the best places in Madrid to shop for second-hand clothing, vinyl records, antique furniture, and handmade craft goods. The area around Calle del Espíritu Santo and Calle de la Palma concentrates independent vintage shops that are open through the week.
The neighbourhood has become Madrid's centre for independent fashion and streetwear since the 2000s — a concentration of small designers selling from their own premises, particularly on Calle de Velarde and the streets feeding off it. Less polished and more idiosyncratic than the boutiques of Chueca or Salamanca. Metro Tribunal or Noviciado.
