Or Zoruah Synagogue

Or Zoruah Synagogue is a small but distinctive piece of Melilla's early-20th-century architecture. It was designed by Enrique Nieto in 1924, with an Arabesque facade that stands out even in a city known for Modernista buildings.

The ground floor is ordinary commercial space, so the main reason to stop is the preserved facade and the glimpse it gives of Melilla's Jewish heritage. Ask at the tourist information kiosk on Plaza de Espana if visits are being arranged.
