Castell de la Granadella

Castell de la Granadella is the ruined shell of an 18th-century coastal watchtower south of Javea. It was built in 1739 as part of the defenses against Barbary pirate raids, then badly damaged during the Peninsular War.

Only fragments remain, including low walls, part of the tower, and a cistern, so come for the setting as much as the masonry. The walk gives wide views over the cliffs and coves around Granadella.
