Aeroseum

Underground aviation museum in a former Swedish Air Force bunker north of Gothenburg

Aeroseum is an aviation museum with a setting that does much of the work: a Cold War-era underground hangar carved into rock at the old Save air base. Aircraft, helicopters, cockpits, engines, and military equipment fill a space originally built to protect Swedish planes from attack.

The museum is outside central Gothenburg, but it is more memorable than a standard aircraft hall. The bunker setting gives context to Sweden's Cold War neutrality and defence planning, while the hands-on exhibits make it a strong choice for families and aviation enthusiasts.
