Jönköping Theatre (Jönköpings teater) is the city's main theatrical venue, with a seating capacity for 356. Housed within the Spira Cultural Center building on the waterfront, it presents a programme of drama, musicals, and visiting productions throughout the autumn and spring seasons.
The theatre is the main stage for regional productions and touring shows from Stockholm and Gothenburg. Performance quality is generally high. Most productions are in Swedish, but occasional visiting international acts and music performances are accessible to non-Swedish speakers. Tickets are reasonably priced by Scandinavian standards.
