Sofia Church (Sofiakyrkan) is a striking neo-Gothic red-brick church in western Jönköping, completed in 1899. The interior is spacious and well-lit, with good stained glass and an impressive organ. It is the main working church for the western part of the city.
The church sits near the old match factory district and is easy to combine with a visit to the Match Museum. Regular organ concerts are held in summer, and the acoustic is good. Worth stepping inside even if you're not a particular fan of church architecture — it gives a sense of how prosperous the match industry made Jönköping in the late 19th century.
