Stöten sits the furthest west of the Sälen resorts, just shy of the Norwegian border. It is independently owned — not part of the SkiStar group that runs Lindvallen, Högfjället, Tandådalen and Hundfjället — so the lift pass is separate and the prices a little lower.
Stöten is best for families and intermediates: gentle treeline slopes, a swimming pool and bowling at the base, and a quieter, less commercial feel than the SkiStar resorts. The valleys around it are good for ski touring.
