Berzelii Park

Small central park beside Nybroplan and Berns

Address Nybroplan, Stockholm

A compact, leafy square tucked between Nybroplan and the waterfront, named after the chemist Jons Jacob Berzelius whose statue stands at its centre. The park is best known for what surrounds it: Berns Salonger, Stockholm's grand 19th-century entertainment palace, sits on one side, and the Royal Dramatic Theatre is just steps away.

In summer the park fills with outdoor cafe seating and becomes a natural gathering point before a night out. In winter the bare trees and gaslight-style lamps give it a moody, old-Stockholm atmosphere. It's small enough to cross in a minute, but worth pausing in.
