Gammlia is Umea's open-air cultural area around the Vasterbottens Museum. It brings together regional history, traditional buildings, exhibitions, art, and occasional performances.
It is one of the easiest places in Umea to get a feel for the culture and history of Vasterbotten beyond the modern city center.
